" is a photodiary I've decided to initiate, compiling day to day events with a snapshot of a moment of the day.
snapshot of a minute in my life, that caught my eye, with a caption of sorts, either explaining the picture or describing my emotions.
I have been told that I never really open up myself to others, and more often than not, I leave people wondering what I truly feel or giving them confusing signals.
Thus, this photodiary, is in a sense, a window to my head.
All my thoughts, my emotions, everything I usually keep out-of-sight, will be put under here, other then my regular blog posts, which are usually not very informative.
Welcome, to the chaos and mess in my head.
I hope you'd find something that speaks to you, whether to pull you through something difficult, or to relate to.
Pieces of the Puzzle
Saturday, 2 November 2013
We tried running away from each other but we always ended up coming back to each other. We can't seem to stay away from each other. But that could be just a one-sided thing on my part. Lately everything seems so one-sided that I'm getting tired.
We have all the pieces of the puzzle but the pieces don't seem to fit, so we sit around wondering if we really do have the all the pieces or if they got mixed up with another puzzle.
This shouldn't be so confusing. All the questions and pain should have stopped. But they haven't. And it means that something's wrong somewhere. Makes me question where did it go wrong. Makes me question if I'm the one who's doing something wrong.
What's worse is knowing where this would go if it continues on like that. But I don't know what's wrong, so I don't know how to fix things. Are we really better when we're together? Or is it just things seem to fall apart whenever they are in my hands?
Have I paid my dues, or is there still hell to pay, that's why it's still so broken up?
Maybe we got complacent and started taking each other for granted. Maybe we're afraid of getting hurt and chose to hide instead. And when we realise we've hurt each other, we come running back apologising. But apologies aren't worth anything unless we make good on our words. Apologies don't start and end with "I'm sorry". Apologies only start with "I'm sorry". They only end when you've made things right.
Everything's driving me mad that I feel like being immature about everything. God knows Igg and I talked about this and we both agreed that it's childish but that's what happens when people get hurt by the ones they care about. We're all only human.

20 Places You Will Fall In Love
Thursday, 11 July 2013
So I was reading Thought Catalog and came across this
post and adapted it into my own version. While most of it remains the same, there are one or two things that I did change.
- Looking across the restaurant at the couple who is too happy to notice anyone around them, and realizing that sometimes we can get a contact high, a little burst of pure joy, just from seeing people who are that in love.
- Finding out from others that someone did everything they could to do something for you, to make you smile.
- Realizing that someone who is so very beautiful does not imagine themselves to be anything special.
- Watching someone laugh out of the corner of your eye when they think something is really, really funny. Watching their dimples and eye creases form and wishing they knew just how wonderful every little line on their face is.
- Hearing someone tell you something that they’ve never told anyone before, because they never felt like anyone would really listen and actually understand.
- Hearing someone say “If there’s anything I can do to help, let me know” and knowing that you can ask them anything and they would do their best to follow through.
- Telling someone that you’re happy for them, and watching their whole face light up with well-earned pride when they realize that you actually mean it.
- Sitting at a restaurant by yourself and getting so deeply lost in your book that you forget you are even alone, and you feel as though you are on a date with the world’s most interesting person.
- Finding out that an old love is getting married to someone who is so much more right for them that you could have ever been, and realizing that you can love someone and not ever want them for yourself again.
- Going to that dream destination you’ve always wanted to go to and it being everything you expected and more.
- Looking at pictures where you are smiling in that unflattering way you almost never allow yourself to do, but you couldn’t help it because you were surrounded by people who made you just that happy.
- Reading old chats and messages and letters with people you used to love, and remembering what it is about them that was so wonderful.
- Having someone telling you that it’s going to be alright, because they are here with you.
- Stirring your coffee in a small, quiet café where the music is just soft enough to remind you that it is playing every so often when you look up from your notebook.
- Running into an old friend at the store and letting it bleed into a long coffee where you talk about every subject that you didn’t even realize had been lying dormant inside of you for years, longing to be confirmed and expressed and understood.
- Sitting on the beach with old friends whom you are visiting for a few weeks in the summer, when the weather is just hot enough to permit you to stay out all night and enjoy one another’s company in a way you were always too busy to do.
- Reading something online that makes you cry, alone, at your computer, simply because it makes you feel — in a way you are rarely lucky enough to feel — that there are other people like you.
- Seeing someone be kind when they think that no one is looking, because they know it is simply the right thing to do.
- Exchanging a few jokes with a charming stranger stuck in the same endless, bureaucratic line as you, reminding you that you are not alone in your battle with everyday tedium.
- Looking across the tracks of the subway and seeing someone in the window of the opposite train, someone who is reading the perfect book and who wears that familiar combination of tired and hopeful on their delicate features.

Of Principles and Men
Tuesday, 21 May 2013
It always humbles me and touches me deeply when my male friends stand up and defend my honour.
It's not that they don't know that I can't fight my own battles.
They've watched me single-handedly win many fights without them.
They know that I'm one hell of a strong-minded, independent lady, who can deal with anything that is thrown at me.
Some have been chewed up and spat out by me even.
And yet, when other men insult me and attack me (verbally or physically), they get angry on my behalf.
It's not that they don't know or don't believe that I can't fight such battles on my own.
But rather, they were all brought up on one simple rule:
No matter how strong and independent a woman is, she is still a woman.
And it is their duty to protect them from men who really shouldn't be called men.
I am greatly honoured and incredibly blessed to have met such great male friends.
I suppose they are why I understand that not all guys are douchebags and I continue to have faith that love really exists.
It is only some who have no principles or integrity.
And they aren't really men anyway.
I suppose you could argue that this pushes back the feminist movement and some would even complain about how we don't need men to fight any battles for us.
I say, to each her own.
I like my man to understand that I am not a fragile piece of glass.
I can fight my own battles and win my own wars.
But I like my man to also know that because I am a lady, physically, I will always be weak.
That can never be helped.
And that is where and when I appreciate him stepping in.
And step in, without the arrogance (i.e. "Oh see? You actually can't do it).
But rather step in, knowing that that is his job and responsibility as a man.
I think a really really good example (just to give a clearer view) are two scenes from The Avengers movie. During the final battle between Loki and The Avengers, there was a scene where the Hulk stops this big-ass worm Chitauri and the Iron Man fires a missile at it, causing it to explode. Captain America immediately shields the Black Widow from the blast with his shield.
But as you continue on, the Black Widow decides to try and figure out how to close the wormhole while the rest continue to fight. Captain America doesn't stop her from doing so and instead trusts her abilities as a fellow member of the team and lets her go. (Is there any wonder why I'm crazy over him?)
That's what I believe a man should be like.
But then again, to each her own I suppose.

Many Factors but One Reason
Monday, 6 May 2013
There will and always be one reason why people get together.
Love.
They fall in love.
They stay together because they stay in love.
They learn to love each other, flaws and imperfection and all.
But how they fell in love and stay in love has many contributing factors.
Maybe they have many things in common.
Maybe they have a common goal.
Maybe they feel they suit each others' characters.
Maybe they've spent too much time together and feelings grow.
Maybe they've been through the good times and bad together.
Maybe he or she did something that touched the other person's heart.
Maybe they just wanted to prove everyone else wrong.
Contributing factors.
Likewise, there will always be one reason why people break up.
Lost love.
They fall out of love.
They stop trying to stay in love.
They stop learning to love each others' flaws and imperfections.
Why they stop however, also has many contributing factors.
Maybe one or both parties change.
Maybe that common goal became not so common anymore.
Maybe they realised their characters were too different to suit each other.
Maybe they've spent too much time together and sparks fade.
Maybe they couldn't overcome the bad times together and couldn't remember the good either.
Maybe they stopped trying to reach each others' hearts.
Maybe they became selfish and put their own wants and needs first.
Contributing factors.

Think About It: Tit-for-Tat
Wednesday, 31 October 2012
If someone hurts you,
It is always easier to return the blow,
Than to be the better person
And walk away.
But is it worth it?
Is it worth returning the blow
And losing something else more important?
We can't always be thinking
"It was worth the sacrifice."
But we need to think
"Was the sacrifice worth it?"
Because some sacrifices we make
Can never be replaced or made up
Like wars
Are the lives lost worth the cause you are fighting for?
Or arguments
Is winning the argument worth hurting the person?
Or changing someone
Is returning what they've done to you in kind worth losing the person forever?

In 365 Days: Run to Me
Wednesday, 3 October 2012
Someone told me very recently,
"Those people who have had near-death experiences, be it intentional or unintentional,
Come back with a zest for life. They understand. They've seen. Now they want to live."
I find myself wondering
"Did I lose mine? Or perhaps I've never had it before?"
A spider can build its web over and over again,
Despite being torn away by the elements.
Shouldn't I stand up again and again,
Despite being brought down by things around me?
In me lately, there's a desperate want to live.
To throw caution to the wind and breathe.
Forget everything that's tying me down and go.
Move. Where the winds take me, like a wanderer.
Can you imagine being free?
To climb the mountains and look for the Yeti.
To swim on the beaches of the Mediterranean.
To dance on the streets of Spain.
I need to find my peace.
I see many people around me living half their lives
Just wasting away, not knowing what they truly want or need to fill that gap in their hearts and souls.
I don't want to be like that.
I don't want to wake up one day to realise that
Half my life is gone
And I've done nothing with it.
I have nothing to pass on.
I want to be able to sit on the sofa
After dinner
And regale my grandchildren and children with tales
Of adventures and experiences and people
I want to be able to have a story to pass on.
My story to pass on.
For the next generation to learn from.
For the next generation to follow.
I want to live a life well-lived.
And when I am on my death-bed,
I can smile and say,
"I had a great time here. Now what's next?"

In 365 Days: Think About It - Bullying
Friday, 4 May 2012
Definition of Bullying
Bullying is when someone keeps doing or saying things to have power over another person.
Some of the ways they bully other people are by: calling them names, saying or writing nasty things about them, leaving them out of activities, not talking to them, threatening them, making them feel uncomfortable or scared, taking or damaging their things, hitting or kicking them, or making them do things they don't want to do.
Have you ever done something like that to someone?
I know I have.
Back in primary school I did that to someone
More than someone
Some people.
Then Karma happened.
And we all know how bitchy she can be.
And I never did that again.
You'd think as people grow older they would learn to be more matured and not as childish.
But I realized that as people age,
The more childish and immature they become.
And the deeds they do are more dastardly as well.
While we don't threaten people,
Or go out of our way to make them fear us and inflict physical pain on them anymore,
We start to exact emotional pain on people.
And of the two (physical and mental), I feel emotional pain is the worse.
We talk behind their backs and call them nasty names behind their backs.
We exclude them from our events and ignore them when they approach us.
Why?
Does it make you feel better about yourself?
Do you feel cool and popular?
Are you going to get a prize for putting down someone just because he or she is different?
All it takes is for one person to start hating on someone different
And the rest to join in.
Think about it:
That person who started the whole show is probably insecure and afraid of that person who is different from him or herself.
He or she then pretends to be confident, when in reality, he or she isn't.
But we dare not point it out.
We being the cowards that we are, join in.
But if we didn't,
And we had made a stand and said that "No, I think that you're wrong."
This wouldn't happened. And that person who tried to stir trouble up, would probably never try to do it again.
Don't get me wrong,
This isn't about humiliating the bully,
Because if we did that, how different would we be different from the bully?
This is about putting a stop to bullying, the act of bullying.
Stand up for yourself.
Stand up for that poor kid that unwillingly became the butt of all your jokes.
Stand up against bullying.
Appreciate the fact that we are all different. That we are individuals with different strengths and weaknesses.
Stop being afraid of people who are different from us.
